In the victorian era, wasn't there a time when girls/women dresses were too much to bare?

What I vile is, weren't their dresses, gowns in so many layers that it really took a impost on them. I heard it was like that untll criolines, etcetera came out.

Yes, it was. This was the conditions of the British Empire too and women went out to India and other hot countries in layers of petticoats and corsets and honest died.
